Description of Transcutaneous Hexomedine in 45ml bottle

Transcutaneous Hexomedine in a 45ml bottle is an antisepsis for small superficial wounds and local adjunctive treatment for possible superinfection of the skin .

How to heal a wound?
Superficial wounds are simple, small wounds. Even if they seem harmless, they should be treated in order to avoid complications and, first of all, infection.
Before treating a wound, wash your hands. The use of a local antiseptic such as Transcutaneous Hexomedine should not neglect the first essential step in the care of a wound: cleaning. A simple careful washing with lukewarm water and soap eliminates the majority of germs. This step must be followed by an equally careful rinsing as some antiseptics can be inactivated by the presence of soap.

Composition of Transcutaneous Hexomedine in 45ml bottle

0.15g hexamidine diisionate, excipients: propylene glycol, methylal, nonoxynol, 96.5 ° ethyl alcohol, purified water per 100 ml.

using advice

Dosage : use pure Transcutaneous hexomedine twice a day in whitewashing or local baths.
In infections of the nail and around the nail, the solution can be used: either in wet dressings (30 to 45 min), or in a bath for 1 to 3 min

Duration of use : 15 days after opening the Hexomedine Transcutaneous bottle if the product is placed on a sterile compress before application. 5 days if the part to be treated is immersed in the bottle. do not rinse.

An antiseptic is a product that helps suppress or prevent the growth of bacteria or viruses. It is used on the surface of the body (we speak of disinfectants for use on medical or other materials). Antiseptics can be fungicides (against fungi), bactericides (against bacteria), virucides (against viruses) or sporicides (against spores), but in general they combine all of its functions. They are applied locally to the area to be treated.

What are the risks and complications of a non-disinfected wound?

Certain wounds expose to serious risks and require a prompt medical consultation. This is particularly the case of open, deep, extensive, bleeding wounds, causing a risk of injury to the tendons, nerves, blood vessels.

A wound can also worsen and expose to certain complications, including:

  • local skin infection
  • necrosis or death of the skin tissue
  • delayed healing of the skin wound
  • abnormal or unsightly scarring
  • a tetanus risk, especially in the event of delayed vaccination.

How to prevent complications from an infected wound?

Complications that may occur as a result of a wound can be avoided with a few simple steps:

  • treat and dress the wound properly by disinfecting it with transcutaneous Hexomedine
  • monitor the infectious state of the wound and consult promptly if symptoms appear such as redness, edema, discharge of pus, resumption of bleeding, increased pain or fever.
