Description of Transcutaneous Hexomedine in 45ml Bottle

Transcutaneous Hexomedine 45ml bottle is an antisepsis of small superficial wounds and local top-up treatment of possible superinfection of the skin .

How to treat a wound?
Superficial wounds are simple, small wounds. Although they seem innocuous, they should be treated to avoid complications and primarily infection.
Before treating a wound, wash your hands. The use of a local antiseptic such as transcutaneous Hexomedine must not neglect the first step essential to the care of a wound: cleaning. A simple washing with warm water and soap eliminates the majority of germs. This step should be followed by rinsing just as carefully as some antiseptics can be inactivated by the presence of soap.

Transcutaneous Hexomedine Composition in 45ml Bottle

0.15 g hexamidine diistionate, excipients: propylene glycol, methylal, nonoxynol, 96.5 ° ethyl alcohol, purified water per 100 ml.

using advice

Dosage : use pure transcutaneous hexomedine 2 times daily in whitewash or in local baths.
In infections of the nail and around the nail, the solution can be used: either in wet dressings (30 to 45 minutes) or bath 1 to 3 minutes

Duration of use : 15 days after opening the Transcutaneous Hexomedine vial if the product is placed on a sterile compress before application. 5 days if the part to be treated is immersed in the bottle. do not rinse.

An antiseptic is a product that suppresses or prevents the growth of bacteria or viruses. It is used on the surface of the body (we speak indeed of disinfectants for a use on medical devices or others). Antiseptics can be fungicidal (against fungi), bactericidal (against bacteria), virucidal (against viruses) or sporicidal (against spores), but in general they combine all of its functions. They are applied locally on the area to be treated.

What are the risks and complications of a non-disinfected wound?

Some wounds expose you to serious risks and require a quick medical consultation. This is particularly the case of open wounds, deep, extensive, bleeding, and causing a risk of damage to the tendons, nerves, blood vessels.

A wound can also worsen and expose to certain complications, among which:

  • local skin infection
  • necrosis or death of skin tissue
  • delayed healing of the cutaneous wound
  • Abnormal or unsightly scarring
  • a tetanus risk, especially in case of delayed vaccination.

How to prevent the complications of an infected wound?

Complications that may occur as a result of a wound can be avoided with a few simple actions:

  • treat and dress the wound properly by disinfecting with transcutaneous Hexomedine
  • monitor the infectious condition of the wound and consult promptly if symptoms such as redness, edema, discharge of pus, relapse of bleeding, increased pain or fever develop.
