AUDEVARD - ASSAY KIT IgG IMMUNOGLOBULINS FOAL - Neonatology
Description Snap Foal Audevard
Assay kit lets you dose immunoglobulins foal. Pack 10 The foals are born with little or no IgG. Their neonatal immunity is acquired by the absorption of antibodies in the colostrum feeding. An early lactation premature inadequate feeding, malabsorption or poor colostrum IgG can cause a defect in the transfer of immunity. This defect is encountered in 10-25% of foals. Then they have a high risk of severe illness and even death. FOAL The SNAP test is an enzyme immunoassay developed for the semiquantitative determination of immunoglobulins (IgG) in serum, plasma or blood horses.
SNAP FOAL IgG test is an enzyme immunoassay developed for the semiquantitative determination of immunoglobulin G (IgG) in the
serum, plasma or whole blood of the horses.
The foals are born with little or no circulating IgG. Their neonatal immunity is acquired by the absorption of antibodies in the
colostrum. An early lactation premature, an inadequate health nursing, malabsorption or poor colostrum IgG may cause
Without this transfer of passive immunity. Partial or total failure of the passive transfer is encountered in 10-25% of foals, and these
then animals have a high risk of severe illness and even death (1,2).

For the new born foal and accompanying treatment.
Snap device obeys immunoassay technology. Is added one drop of whole blood, diluted serum or plasma and the reagent conjugated to Snap device. The device is activated, thereby releasing the reagent contained therein. The color development of the test spot is proportional to the concentration of IgG in the sample. Witnesses take some spots color intensity depending on whether the sample is 400 mg / dl or 800 mg / dl. By comparing the intensity of the color developed on the test spot and witnesses spots, we can interpret the concentration of IgG in the blood sample. The fact that a color appears on the control shows that the spots are active reagents.
