Advantix Medium Dog 10 to 25 kg (4 or 6 pipettes) is an anti-parasitic treatment that prevents and treats infestations by fleas, ticks, mosquitoes and sandflies.
- Fleas are killed within 24 hours of treatment. A single treatment prevents reinfestations by fleas for 4 weeks. The drug can be integrated into a therapeutic program for Allergic Flea Bite Dermatitis (DAPP). The product has repellent acaricidal efficacy, persisting for 4 weeks (Rhipicaphalus Sanguineus, Ixodes Ricinus) and 3 weeks (Derlacentor Reticulatis).
- Ticks already present on the dog at the time of treatment may not be killed for 2 days following treatment administration and may remain attached and visible. Also, it is recommended to remove the ticks present during the application of the treatment, in order to avoid their attachment and the taking of a blood meal. A single treatment provides repellent (anti-feeding) activity against sandflies for 2-3 weeks, against mosquitoes for 2-4 weeks, and against stable flies for 4 weeks.
How to properly apply Advantix on Medium Dog?
Detach a pipette and hold it upright. Open the pipette by unscrewing the cap. Use the cap upside down to screw and perforate the pipette orifice.
Part the animal's hair at the base of the neck until the skin is visible. Place the tip on the skin and squeeze firmly several times to empty the contents directly onto the skin. The application at the base of the neck avoids licking. Take care that animals do not lick each other after treatment. If necessary, hyper-salivation may occur, which is not serious and temporary.
Composition
Imadocloprid (250 mg), Permethrin (1250 mg), Butyl Hydroxytoluene (2.5 mg), Excipients qsp 2.5 ml (1 pipette).
Precaution of use
Do not use on the cat. Consult the leaflet.
Advantix Medium Dog (between 10 and 25 kg) is extremely dangerous in cats and can be lethal, given the particular physiology of cats and their inability to metabolize certain compounds such as permethrin. To prevent cats from being accidentally exposed to the product, keep treated dogs away from cats until the application site is completely dry. It is important that cats cannot lick the application site of a recently treated dog. If this happens, contact your veterinarian immediately.
Do not allow dogs to come into contact with the aquatic environment for at least 48 hours after application of the product, given that it can be dangerous for aquatic organisms.
Fleas are the main ectoparasites encountered. Their presence can be manifested by weak to intense itching, allergic dermatitis (hypersensitivity reaction to flea saliva), infestations of Dipylidium-type intestinal worms, etc.
Ticks are very well known ectoparasites in certain regions, particularly hunting regions and wooded regions. The main tick species are responsible for the transmission of piroplasmosis , borreliosis (Lyme disease) as well as ehrlichiosis . In addition, Lyme disease is a zoonosis, that is to say that humans can also contract this affection.
