Our advice and opinions from pharmacy experts

Zinc has a major role in fighting moderate acne. It exists only in small quantities in the cells of our body, but its contribution is considerable. Its deficiency can cause dermatological disorders, and can cause acne breakouts. We can say that zinc is a good ally against moderate acne.

  • Upstream, an antioxidant action : zinc prevents the accumulation of toxins and fights against free radicals. Result: your skin is clean and healthy, which limits the appearance of pimples. Zinc also has a preventive role.
  • An anti-bacterial action when the pimples are already there : zinc helps fight against microbes that threaten the skin and facilitates the healing of pimples. A real added value to limit the risk of infection.
  • An anti-inflammatory action when the buds bud : zinc also soothes the skin and therefore helps reduce redness.

LEXICON (summary)

acne
Affection of the skin linked to sebum retention forming comedones (blackheads and microcysts). These are the seat of a proliferation of bacteria and turn into pustules.

antibiotics
Substance capable of blocking the multiplication of certain bacteria or killing them. The spectrum of an antibiotic is the set of bacteria on which this product is usually active. Unlike bacteria, viruses are not susceptible to antibiotics. The first antibiotics were extracted from fungal cultures: penicillium (penicillin), streptomyces (streptomycin). They are currently manufactured by chemical synthesis. Antibiotics are divided into families: penicillins, cephalosporins, macrolides, tetracyclines (cyclins), sulfonamides, aminoglycosides, lincosanides, phenicolates, polymyxins, quinolones, imidazoles, etc.
Inappropriate use of antibiotics can promote resistance: use an antibiotic only on prescription, respect its dosage and duration, do not give and do not advise another person an antibiotic that you have been prescribed .

deficiency
Deficiency usually related to nutrients, vitamins, minerals, etc. A diversified diet is the best prevention of deficiencies.

cyclins
Family of antibiotics used especially in the treatment of acne and certain genital infections.

inflammation
Natural reaction of the organism against an element recognized as foreign. It manifests locally as redness, heat, pain or swelling.

digestive dressings
Drug that protects the digestive tract by lining the mucosa with a protective film and decreasing the acidity of the stomach. This type of medicine can interfere with the absorption of other drugs.

Digestive disorders
Set of symptoms reflecting irritation or dysfunction of the digestive tract. One or more disorders may be present: nausea, vomiting, aerophagia, abdominal pain, heartburn, bloating, flatulence, diarrhea or constipation, etc. Antibiotics can promote candidiasis, often responsible for digestive disorders.
