The Essential Oil of Dill (Anethum graveolens) belongs to the family Apiaceae. This is a plant with carminative properties, stimulating and digestive antispasmodic which has the effect of increasing the basal tone and contractions of the intestinal smooth muscle. It is also cholagogue and choleretic, and is an excellent stimulant liver and pancreas.
Hypolipidemic and anti-hypercholestérolémiante, the essential oil of dill has an anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory. Moreover, it is a diuretic plant, antispasmodic of the urinary tract, bronchial liquefying and mucolytic and qu'antidépressive.

Used Oil of Dill Essential in the following therapeutic indications:

- hypersténique Dyspepsia, spastic colitis, hiccups
- Flatulence, intestinal fermentation, colopathy right

Whole plant with fruit:

Monoterpenes 30-75%: 15-40% limonene, alpha phellandrene 20-40% beta-phellandrene 3-5%, para-cymene 1-5%, sabinene

Ketones from 20 to 65% d-carvone 15 to 65%, cis-dihydrocarvone = (Z) -dihydrocarvone 2%, trans-dihydrocarvone = (E) 1% -dihydrocarvone

Oxides monoterpene <10%: 3,9-epoxy-p-menth-1-ene 3-8%, alpha-phellandrene epoxide, limonene oxide

Monoterpenols: <1% Cis-carveol, trans-carveol <1%, Dillapiole

In the fruit ET, d-carvone predominates, up to 65%

The essential oil of leaves above contains alpha-phellandrene

Possible side effects and precautions:

- potential neurotoxicity (ketone: d-carvone), especially fruit ET

- Do not use pure (caustic), always dilute

- Forbidden in pregnancy (abortion)

- Forbidden to epileptic patients, children and elderly

- Forbidden for people with multiple sclerosis or with Parkinson

- Do not distribute
