Advantix for Large Dogs over 25 kg (up to a weight of 40 kg) is an antiparasitic treatment that prevents and treats infestations by fleas, ticks, mosquitoes and sandflies.
Fleas are killed within 24 hours of treatment. A single treatment prevents reinfestations by fleas for 4 weeks. The drug can be integrated into a therapeutic program for Allergic Flea Bite Dermatitis (DAPP).
How to use Advantix for your large dog?
Apply 1 pipette per month directly to the skin of the neck between the shoulder blades, taking care to part the hairs. To reduce reinfestation by emergence of new fleas, it is recommended to treat all dogs in the household . Other pets living in the same household should also be treated with an appropriate product.
In the event of high parasitic pressure, it is recommended to use in addition an appropriate treatment of the environment against adult fleas and their stages of development. The treatment remains effective if the animal is wet. However, avoid intense and prolonged exposure to water. With repeated exposure to water, the duration of effectiveness may be reduced. In this case, a minimum interval of one week must be respected between two applications. If the dog requires shampoo , this should be done before application of the medication or at least two weeks after application to optimize the effectiveness of the medication.
Administration mode
For cutaneous application only; only on healthy skin.
Take a pipette out of the package. Hold the pipette upright, twist and detach the cap. Place the cap, upside down, on the pipette and twist it to puncture the pipette, then remove the cap.
For dogs over 10 kg body weight: With the dog in a standing position, apply the entire contents of the pipette evenly at four points on the animal's back , from the shoulders to the base of the tail.
At each point of application , part your large dog's hair until the animal's skin is visible.
Place the end of the pipette on the skin, and squeeze gently to deposit some of the solution on the skin. Do not deposit an excessive quantity of solution on the level of one of the points of application, the solution could run on the sides of the dog.
Overdose (symptoms, emergency procedures, antidotes):
The application of doses equivalent to 5 times the therapeutic dose in healthy puppies or adult dogs did not cause any adverse clinical signs.
It is the same in puppies whose mother received 3 times the therapeutic dose.
The product has repellent acaricidal efficacy , persisting for 4 weeks (Rhipicaphalus Sanguineus, Ixodes Ricinus) and 3 weeks (Derlacentor Reticulatis). Advice from your pharmacist
The attachment of a tick or the bite of a mosquito or sandfly remains possible. Therefore, the transmission of infectious diseases by these parasites cannot be completely excluded if the conditions are unfavorable.
Advantix Grand Chien Bayer has repellent (anti-feeding) activity against ticks, sandflies and mosquitoes; this prevents repelled parasites from taking a blood meal and reduces the risk of transmission of canine vector-borne diseases (such as borreliosis, rickettsiosis, ehrlichiosis and leishmaniasis). Avoid contact of the solution with the eyes or mouth of treated dogs. Take care to administer the product correctly as described in the “Dosage and route of administration” section. In particular, take care to prevent any ingestion of the product by licking the application site by treated animals or animals in contact with them.
Do not allow children to play with treated animals until application site is dry. This can be ensured by treating the animals in the evening, for example. In this case, do not allow recently treated dogs to sleep with their owners, especially if they are children.
