Tegaderm Foam Hydrocellular Adhesive Dressing 10x11cm is sterile and highly absorbent. Adapts its semi-permeability according to the amount of wound exudate. Ensures a sufficient level of humidity at the level of the wound when the wound is not very exuding and increases its ability to manage exudates in order to avoid any maceration on a heavily exuding wound. Foam is impervious to liquids (sweat, urine, showers) and to exogenous contamination (bacteria, viruses(1)), but allows gas exchanges thanks to excellent gas and water vapor permeability. Tegaderm polyurethane film Film in contour, perfectly isolating the wound and limiting the risk of leakage for an optimal duration of use and excellent maintenance of the dressing. Flexible, adapts easily to anatomical reliefs.

(1) In vitro tests have shown that the film, intact and in the absence of leaks, behaved as a barrier to viruses 27 nm in diameter, such as HCV, or larger, such as HBV and HIV.
Used as a primary dressing, it facilitates the healing in a moist environment of highly exuding acute and chronic wounds such as dermabrasions, graft donor sites, pressure sores, wounds with loss of substance, venous ulcers, arterial ulcers or diabetic ulcers . As a secondary dressing, it is appreciated to protect cavitary wounds.

Precaution of use
These absorbent dressings should be kept away from light, at an average temperature of between 5°C and 30°C and a humidity of between 20% and 60%. Whatever the case, be sure to respect the expiry date printed on the packaging.

Exudate: how to treat an exuding wound?
Depending on the cause, the treatment may vary but first, on the wound directly, you can rinse and clean thoroughly with tap water or with saline solution to remove all traces of soap. Dry the wound by dabbing gently with a sterile compress then apply an antiseptic solution either as a spray or using a sterile compress to disinfect.
The amount of exudate is a significant factor to consider in the healing process of a wound. It partly depends on the surface concerned.
Management of exudate mainly involves the choice of dressing, which remains the main management option because it will protect the wound.
