HEXOMEDINE is a medicine that is a local antiseptic . It is used to provide antisepsis for skin lesions that are infected or at risk of infection.

Dosage and route of administration

1 application or 1 wet dressing or 1 local bath, 2 or 3 times a day. The solution is ready to use and should not be rinsed. Dermal.

How to clean a wound ?

  1. Wash your hands thoroughly.
  2. Wash the wound, preferably with a mild soap. Rinse with water and pat dry with a compress. Avoid conventional cotton, it may leave fibers in the wound.
  3. Disinfect and allow the antiseptic to air dry. This drying time is essential for the action of the product.
  4. Avoid using too much product and cleaning the wound too often, this could lead to delayed healing.

ACTIVE SUBSTANCE: HEXAMIDINE DI-ISETIONATE .

EXCIPIENTS: ACETIC ACID, PURIFIED WATER, ETHANOL, SODIUM ACETATE, NITROGEN.

Precautions for use

Contraindication and warning
Hypersensitivity to any of the components.

This drug Hexomedine 0.1% Gel tube of 30G should not be used in the following cases :

  • on the mucous membranes,
  • on open wounds,
  • for antisepsis of the skin before an injection,
  • for disinfecting medical and surgical equipment.

Combination with other antiseptics is not recommended because their effects may cancel each other out.

Breastfeeding : this antiseptic should not be applied to the nipple without medical advice. Thorough rinsing before feeding is essential.

The solution should not be applied to the mucous membranes (mouth, vagina ...) due to the presence of alcohol.

Do not use on a large area, under occlusive dressing, on burned skin, premature or infant skin.

Precautions for use

As soon as the tube is opened, microbial contamination is possible. Be sure to use the gel hygienically.

Replace the tube between two uses, put the gel on clean hands or a compress before applying it to the place to be treated.
