What is Pranarom Hydrolat Rosemary Verbenone Bio 150ml used for?

A hydrosol is a distillation water or floral water obtained during the steam distillation of an aromatic or medicinal plant, in order to obtain an essential oil . During the distillation process in the still, the aromatic molecules of the distilled raw materials are entrained with the water vapor, condensed and collected in a decanter. The distillate obtained is composed of supernatant essential oil and distillation water, in which a tiny part of the essential oil has dissolved.

A hydrosol is not as powerful as an essential oil, however, being constituted by water (floral water), it retains water-soluble odorous molecules and remains slightly scented, having certain therapeutic properties.

In ancient Egypt, one would have perfumed the tomb of the deceased by depositing twigs of rosemary.

In ancient Greece, rosemary was a symbol of love . The twigs were burnt as an offering to the gods ...

In Athens as in Rome, rosemary was considered a sacred plant, and Horace (65-8 BC), a famous poet, dedicated a few verses to it, taking into account its qualities which he considered "magical". ..

It was the Arab doctors who were the first to extract its essential oil .

It was the Benedictine monks who allowed its introduction into Europe, around the 9th century.

Rosemary entered into the composition of the " vinegar of the 4 thieves ", an antiseptic which was to prevent the great plague, and which was preserved for a long time as a monograph in the Pharmacopoeia. It was a maceration in red vinegar of: rosemary, sage, wormwood, rue, mint, lavender, calamus, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, garlic and camphor.

It was also part of the formula of " Oppodeldoch " of Paracelsus against rheumatic pains , various pains and gout.
