Another symptom is hemorrhoids. Venous insufficiency is due to a dysfunction in the venous return, which causes an accumulation of blood in the veins (venous stasis) causing a weakening of the venous wall, and which can go as far as the formation of a clot ( phlebitis) requiring consultation with a doctor.

No medication will be delivered outside of France. Only available at the pharmacy in Perpignan (France).

Buy drugs online to improve venous circulation and venous return

Venous insufficiency is a very common blood circulation problem that can affect both men and women.

Particularly unpleasant because it is amplified in summer, venous insufficiency must however be taken care of throughout the year, to prevent recurrence.

  • Blood fails to move up through the veins, especially in the lower limbs to the heart. We are talking about an insufficient venous return.
  • The resulting symptoms are diverse: heavy legs, varicose veins, hemorrhoidal crises, etc.
  • The treatment of venous insufficiency must first of all begin with a certain number of hygieno-dietetic measures favoring the improvement of this venous return.

Thus, for example, we recommend avoiding trampling and prolonged standing. Promote physical exercise. Wear compression stockings or socks as much as possible, summer and winter. Elevate your legs at night. Pass a stream of cool water on the legs. Walking in the sea. Avoid exposure to heat mainly in the lower limbs.

In terms of the therapies available for venous insufficiency in the pharmaceutical arsenal, mention may be made of the use of venotonic drugs. These can strengthen the tone of the veins , improve their resistance and thus promote venous return. Your pharmacist specializes in measuring compression socks, stockings and tights. Do not hesitate to ask him for advice.

The application of cooling gels is also very effective in quickly relieving pain associated with heavy legs.

Which venotonics to take to treat chronic venous insufficiency

In chronic venous insufficiency , the blood circulating in the lower limbs has difficulty in returning to the heart. It can be caused by genetic factors, it can occur after trauma or result from the formation of a blood clot. Poor blood circulation in the legs can cause swelling and blistering, a feeling of heaviness, tingling, cramping, pain, varicose veins, and changes in skin pigmentation. In severe forms of venous insufficiency, ulcers and skin lesions can develop. Medicines such as natural flavonoids extracted from plants and similar synthetic products may improve blood circulation. These drugs are grouped under the name of venotonic or phlebotonic drugs.

Also called phlebotonic or phlébotropes the veinotonic are drugs that act on the symptoms of venous insufficiency (heavy legs sensation, swelling, etc.). They increase the tone of the walls of the veins, which will stimulate blood circulation. Medicines containing so-called vasculoprotective and venotonic substances (diosmin, troxerutin, flavonoids, etc.) or certain plant extracts (witch hazel, sweet clover, horse chestnut, red vine, etc.) aim to relieve symptoms (heavy legs, impatience) caused by poor venous circulation, but they have no effect on the course of the disease. They are not reimbursed by health insurance.

Oral treatments can be supplemented by massaging the legs with a gel or cream containing vasculoprotective or anti-inflammatory substances.

Herbal medicines intended to promote the renal elimination of water (so-called aquaretic medicines ) can be proposed. Their interest is not demonstrated.

Treatment of venous insufficiency with compression garments:

Compression stockings are recommended for people with venous insufficiency and varicose veins. They relieve pain and heaviness in the legs and also prevent the risk of venous thrombosis and phlebitis. Compression clothing is indicated in the treatment of venous disorders and any venous insufficiency.
Compression clothing , especially socks , stockings and tights help reduce the dilation of the veins and increase the speed of blood flow. From the medical field to promote venous return of patients suffering from venous insufficiency, venous compression clothing for athletes allows better recovery after sports effort.
They must be adapted to each individual's situation and prescribed by a doctor. There are different classes of compression, each adapted to the severity of venous insufficiency .

The advice of your pharmacist for vascular insufficiency

  • A medical diagnosis is preferable to any attempt at self-medication. If symptoms persist, seek medical advice.
  • Get in the habit of raising your legs as often as possible , when you are sitting or lying down
  • In particular, avoid uncomfortable and tight clothing or shoes
  • Favor temperate places
  • Walk, move, dance ... In short, avoid staying still for too long
  • Drink (weakly mineralized water of course!)
  • Sitz baths or derivative baths help to improve your circulation.
  • Finish the shower by sweeping your legs with a stream of cold water from the bottom up
  • Decongestant massages are particularly recommended, with special mention for manual lymphatic drainage
  • Foot reflexology is also a particularly interesting technique for stimulating general circulation.
