Advice

Top tips for heavy legs
Many people have already experienced a feeling of heaviness in the legs, especially at the end of a strenuous day. This feeling gradually sets in during the day and is favored by prolonged standing. This disorder is not the fruit of the spirit but the consequence of a dysfunction of the blood circulation. Simple gestures – often neglected – and treatments exist to relieve heavy legs.

  • Practice regular physical activity.
  • Keep your legs as straight as possible.
  • Protect yourself from the heat.
  • Avoid wearing tight clothing.
  • Prioritize a balanced diet to prevent overweight.

Hemorrhoidal crisis, what is it ?
In the normal state, these are venous formations located around and inside the anus and rectum, which are painless. The problems appear when a hemorrhoidal crisis occurs, caused by an abnormal dilation of these veins. These vessels can then exteriorize to form a "ball" at the level of the anus. Pushing hemorrhoids cause more or less significant discomfort, accompanied by burning, aggravated by defecation, sitting or walking.

  • Preparations for local use (suppositories, creams, ointments) help to calm the symptoms and help, by lubricating the canal, to bring up the hemorrhoids.
  • That said, the treatment and prevention of recurrences also go through the fight against constipation. You should therefore increase your fiber intake by consuming more fruits and vegetables – fresh and dried – and whole grains.
  • And if the stools are dry, drink at least 1.5 liters of water a day to hydrate them.

LEXICON (summary)

hemorrhoids
Abnormal dilatation of a vein of the anus or rectum developing either outside or inside. It can cause bleeding.

impatience
Difficult sensations localized in the legs. They manifest themselves, usually at bedtime, by a feeling of discomfort, an irrepressible need to move the legs.

venous insufficiency
Inability of leg veins to raise blood to the heart.

lymphatic
Regarding the lymph, a colorless liquid circulating in specific vessels and whose accumulation causes edema.

phlebitis
Inflammation of a deep vein with formation of a blood clot, usually affecting the legs. The severity of the phlebitis is related to the possibility of a clot displacement that can migrate to the heart and then come to obstruct an artery of the lungs (pulmonary embolism). Paraphlebitis, or superficial phlebitis, is the inflammation of a superficial vein; it is much less worrying.

symptomatic treatment
Treatment that suppresses or alleviates the symptoms of a disease without attacking its cause.

digestive disorders
Set of symptoms reflecting irritation or dysfunction of the digestive tract. One or more disorders may be present: nausea, vomiting, aerophagia, abdominal pain, heartburn, bloating, flatulence, diarrhea or constipation, etc. Antibiotics can promote candidiasis, often responsible for digestive disorders.

capillary vessels
Blood vessels finer than hair (hence their name) that irrigate cells.

vascular
Regarding the blood vessels: arteries and veins.

veinotonic
Refers to a medicine that has the property of increasing the tone of the wall.
