Our expert pharmacy advice

Serotonin is one of the main neurotransmitters in the brain. It intervenes in particular in the sleep process, as a precursor of melatonin, and for stress management . With age, the production of serotonin declines. In addition, the stress that one undergoes on a daily basis (following smoking cessation or that encountered in the context of a slimming diet) can also reduce the rate, thereby causing depressed mood, fatigue, anxiety and insomnia.

L-5-HTP found in Griffonia Simplicifolia is the same amino acid that our body produces naturally. Essential for the regular replenishment of serotonin, it helps reduce anxiety and depression. Without having the side effects, Griffonia is as effective as anxiolytics and synthetic antidepressants.

L-5-HTP also acts as an appetite suppressant and may make it easier to continue dieting , as serotonin is involved in suppressing the appetite for high-calorie, carbohydrate foods.
