The differences between dry and dehydrated skin?

When the skin bothers us, feels tight or even flakes, we tend to believe that we have dry skin and we are determined to consider it as such. Yet did you know that there is a big difference between dry skin and dehydrated skin ?

And the good news is that dehydrated skin is a rarer phenomenon and, above all, it is temporary. While dry skin is a type of skin, a genetic characteristic that cannot be changed. We will be able to improve the comfort of this dry skin but not modify the cause, that is to say a lack of lipids in the different layers of the epidermis.

Because yes, dry skin lacks lipids and dehydrated skin lacks water. But how do you know if your skin needs a scoop of water or a scoop of oil?

Dry skin :

It is a skin that does not produce enough fat. It works economically by producing at least the hydrolipidic film which is supposed to protect our skin from external aggressions. When this film is altered it can also cause a loss of water and it is then double punishment: dry and dehydrated skin. The dry skin to defend itself can also have a tendency to thicken, it is a natural phenomenon to try to compensate for the lack of the hydrolipidic film.

I have dry skin if:

If I have always felt tightness in my skin.
If my pores are almost invisible but my complexion is often dull .
The skin is thin, rough and often lacks smoothness all over the face.
Winter and the cold are not my friends because I often have sores.

Dehydrated skin :

It is skin thirsty for hydration. Most of the time, however, dehydrated skin is closely related to dry skin because it is also the protective shield that has been altered. Dehydrated skin can appear in various conditions: too strong air conditioning, stress, pollution, alcohol abuse, tobacco or even taking certain drugs that will cause water loss.

I have dehydrated skin if:

I feel discomfort, but only in certain areas (often the cheeks) while the rest of my face may tend to shine, especially on the T zone.
My pores are enlarged in parts of the skin of the face.
My skin feels tight after cleaning and when I'm outside.
The skin of my face reddens easily in hot or cold areas.

How to relieve dry skin on the face?
