Our expert pharmacy advice

The depigmentation of brown spots on the skin, whatever their origin, is a treatment based on two principles:

First principle: reduce the production of melanin . For this, we can use a molecule that will oppose the production of melanin, within the cells that produce them, the melanocytes. It is therefore advisable to use sun creams, the purpose of which is to reduce the production of melanin caused by ultraviolet rays , to reduce the number of melanocytes which produce melanin, and to reduce the transfer of this melanin to the cells of the epidermis .
Second principle: Accelerate the renewal of skin cells. Thus, the production of melanin will not be sufficient to meet the growing demand of cells for renewal. This reduces the installed pigmentation, as well as the melanin load of the skin cells . What is possible with surgical techniques (peeling, dermabrasion, cryotherapy, laser) and medical (hydroquinolones and derivatives).
