INDICATIONS (summary)
This drug is a gel-impregnated plaster that contains a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug ( NSAID ). It locally fights against inflammation and pain.
It is used in the short-term treatment of sprains, sprains and bruises.
CONTRAINDICATIONS (summary)
This medication should not be used in the following cases:

This medication can be used on the advice of your pharmacist. Nevertheless, medical advice is preferable in cases of severe pain, severe edema or limb or joint mobility.

Pregnancy :

NSAIDs for local application may pass through the skin, pass through the blood, and expose the fetus to the same risk, when applied over a large area of ​​skin or under an occlusive dressing. Do not use this medication during pregnancy without medical advice.

Breastfeeding:

Usual dosage:

1. WHAT IS DICLOFENAC TEVA COUNCIL 1%, medicated plaster AND IN WHAT CASES IS IT USED?

Pharmacotherapeutic group: NON-STEROIDAL ANTI-INFAMMATORY FOR TOPICAL USE - ATC code: M02AA15.

DICLOFENAC TEVA CONSEIL is a medicine that relieves pain. It is part of the class of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).

DICLOFENAC TEVA CONSEIL is used for short-term local treatment in cases of painful benign trauma such as strains, sprains or bruises resulting from sports.

2. BEFORE YOU USE DICLOFENAC TEVA COUNCIL 1%, medicated plaster?

Do not use DICLOFENAC TEVA TIP 1%, medicated plaster:

· if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to diclofenac, propylene glycol, butylhydroxytoluene or any of the other ingredients of this medication mentioned in section 6;

· if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), eg acetylsalicylic acid or ibuprofen;

· in the event of a history of asthma, skin reaction or swelling inside the nose causing irritation following acetylsalicylic acid or other NSAIDs,

· if you have an evolving digestive ulcer;

· on cutaneous wounds (eg abrasions, cuts, burns), infected skin lesions or eczema lesions;

· during the last three months of pregnancy.

Warnings and Precautions

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using DICLOFENAC TEVA CONSEIL 1%, medicated plaster .

· If you are currently suffering from or have had asthma or allergies, use of this medication may cause bronchial spasm (bronchospasm), which can cause breathing difficulties.

· The appearance of a rash after application requires immediate cessation of treatment.

· In case of kidney, heart or liver disease, history of gastrointestinal ulcer disease, intestinal inflammatory disease or digestive bleeding.

The occurrence of adverse reactions can be minimized by using the lowest dose possible for the shortest possible treatment time necessary to relieve symptoms.

IMPORTANT PRECAUTIONS:

· If symptoms persist for more than 3 days, you should consult a doctor.

· Do not apply the plaster to the eyes or mucous membranes and avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.

· Elderly patients should use DICLOFENAC TEVA CONSEIL with caution as they are particularly prone to adverse effects.

After removing the plaster, avoid exposing the treated area directly to sunlight (sun or UV) for about one day to reduce the risk of light intolerance.

Other medicines and DICLOFENAC TEVA COUNCIL 1%, medicated plaster

Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are using, have recently used or could use any other medicines.

Under normal conditions of use of DICLOFENAC TEVA CONSEIL, the amount of diclofenac passing through the blood is very low, so that the interactions described for oral diclofenac are unlikely.

Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or plan a pregnancy, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

During the first 6 months of pregnancy, DICLOFENAC TEVA CONSEIL can only be used on the advice of your doctor.

During the last three months of pregnancy, DICLOFENAC TEVA CONSEIL should not be used in any way because of the risk of increased severe consequences for mother and child ( see section "Do not use DICLOFENAC TEVA CONSEIL 1% medicated plaster " ).

Diclofenac passes in very small quantities into breast milk. As no adverse reactions have been reported to the infant, it is generally not necessary to suspend breast-feeding during short-term use. DICLOFENAC TEVA CONSEIL should never be applied directly to the breasts.

Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine.

Sport

Not applicable.

Driving and using machines

DICLOFENAC TEVA CONSEIL has no or only negligible influence on the ability to drive and use machines.

DICLOFENAC TEVA COUNCIL 1%, medicated plaster contains propylene glycol and butylhydroxytoluene

Propylene glycol may cause irritation to the skin.

Butylhydroxytoluene may cause local skin reactions (eg eczema) or irritation of eyes and mucous membranes.

3. HOW TO USE DICLOFENAC TEVA TIP 1%, medicated plaster?

Always use this medication exactly as prescribed in this leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure.

Dosage

The usual dose is:

adults

Apply a plaster on the painful area twice a day (morning and evening). The maximum total daily dose is 2 plasters, even if you have to treat several traumatized areas. Treat only one painful area at a time.

Children and Youth

Because of the absence of specific studies, DICLOFENAC TEVA CONSEIL should not be used in children and adolescents under 15 years of age.

Administration mode

To be used exclusively in application on the skin. Do not ingest!

1. Open the sachet containing the plaster, cutting it along the dotted line.

2. Pull out a plaster and close the bag carefully by pressing the closure.

3. Remove the protective film from the adhesive surface of the plaster.

4. Then apply the plaster on the painful area.

If necessary, hold the plaster using an elastic net dressing.

Never cover the patch with a hermetic (occlusive) dressing.

Never cut the plaster.

After using the plaster, fold it in half with the adhesive side inward.

Duration of treatment

Do not use DICLOFENAC TEVA CONSEIL for more than 3 days without consulting your doctor. This medication can only be used for a longer period of time after consultation with the doctor and should not be used for more than 7 days.

If you feel that the effect of DICLOFENAC TEVA CONSEIL is too strong or too weak, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

If you used more than DICLOFENAC TEVA TIP 1%, medicated plaster that you should:

Check with your doctor if you notice any side effects after using DICLOFENAC TEVA CONSEIL incorrectly or after accidental overdose (eg in children). It will tell you what to do if necessary, depending on the severity of the poisoning.

If you forget to use DICLOFENAC TEVA TIP 1%, medicated plaster:

Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.

If you stop using DICLOFENAC TEVA TIP 1%, medicated plaster:

Not applicable.

4. WHAT ARE POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS?

Like all medicines, this medicine may cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

By convention, the frequency of adverse reactions is classified as follows:

Very common: more than 1 in 10 patients treated.

Common: affects 1 to 10 patients treated in 100.

Uncommon: affects 1 to 10 patients treated in 1,000.

Rare: affects 1 to 10 patients treated in 10,000.

Very rare: affects less than 1 in 10,000 patients.

Unknown Frequency: Frequency Unable to evaluate with available data.

Immediately consult your doctor and stop using the plaster if you experience any of the following : rash with itching (hives), swelling of the hands, feet, ankles, face, lips, mouth or throat, difficulty breathing, decreased blood pressure or fatigue.

Possible side effects include:

Common: local skin reactions such as redness of the skin, burning sensation, itching, inflammatory reddening of the skin, rash sometimes accompanied by pustules or papules.

Uncommon: hypersensitivity reactions or local allergic reactions (contact dermatitis).

In patients using drugs of the same class as diclofenac, there have been reports of a generalized rash, hypersensitivity reactions such as swelling of the skin and mucous membranes, and anaphylactic circulatory regulation and photosensitivity.

After dermal application, absorption of diclofenac in the body is extremely low compared to the concentrations of active ingredient that are reached in the blood after oral diclofenac. The risk of undesirable effects affecting the whole body (eg gastrointestinal or renal disorders or difficulty breathing) is very low.

5. HOW TO STORE DICLOFENAC TEVA CONSEIL 1%, medicated plaster?

Keep this medicine out of the reach and sight of children.

Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.

Keep at a temperature not exceeding 25 ºC.

Store in the original package in order to protect from dryness and light.

Keep the sachet tightly closed to prevent drying out.

The medication is preserved 4 months after the opening of a sachet.

Do not throw any medicines into drains or rubbish. Ask your pharmacist to remove any medications you are no longer using. These measures will help protect the environment.
